Jason is participating in two sessions at the 2020 Game Developers Conference:
- Fascinating Rhythm: Bending the Power of Drums and Groove to Your Will
In this session, Jason will break down his rhythmic approach to composing music from a drummer’s perspective, including creative patterns for drums/percussion and writing orchestral action music in odd time signatures. Topics will include musical phrasing and its impact on gameplay, creating grooves that support the in-game action and how properly layering rhythms can build to a satisfying interactive game experience.

Five composers will bring to light the realities of the composer demo process, with a specific emphasis on the MANY times they have each been rejected. The conversation will cover the emotional and professional aspects of rejection, as well as the more controversial aspects of this practice (such as accepting unpaid demos, as well as undertaking large expenses in the process).
