About the Score
Jason composed the score around the idea of a ghost world: eerie, intimate, investigative, and suspended between life and death. The core palette was string quartet and percussion, creating what Top Score described as an “eerie sonic world” for the game. A key part of the sound was Jason performing the textural string writing himself, playing violin, viola, cello, and bass. North Carolina Symphony members were hired for the more melodic and beautiful string material, resulting in raw, handmade ghostliness paired with moments of fragile emotion.
