Command an American submarine during the Pacific campaign of World War II. From stalking enemy convoys to launching precision torpedo attacks and evading destroyer patrols, players must manage their crew, navigate vast ocean environments, and survive the constant danger of undersea warfare. Jason wrote a broad, bittersweet main theme using noble brass, sweeping strings, and subtle choir. For the submarine sequences, he translated elements of the ocean into the orchestration: repeating short woodwind chords imitate sonar pings, while rising and falling violin figures suggest waves moving against the hull. The action music combines aggressive brass, dissonant strings, tense choral writing, and heavy percussion. Japanese percussion, particularly taiko drums, was incorporated to represent the unseen enemy and distinguish the Pacific campaign from a conventional European war score.
